CREATEC are actively seeking new opportunities within community, government and/or industry to make a difference within the broader community.

Research areas

Can you identify an area that would benefit from research? Do you have a problem that we can assist you in solving? We want to use our knowledge and expertise to assist in these areas to make a difference.

We are able to provide virtual communities to bring remote learners or distant family members together to improve their quality of life. One of our current projects is being undertaken with the HeartNet Foundation, providing a valuable network of support for its members. Heart patients are able to go online to speak with others in their situation and share their experiences, ideas and inspiration. This has been invaluable as a community that would otherwise not have been available to them, especially soon after their operation when they are unable to actively participate in a real community environment.

E-learning is a very strong area of research within our schools, which can assist with rural communities and distance learning, as well as crossing to international borders. We have a breadth of expertise in this area.

Creative practice may provide a welcome relief or means to re-engage disengaged youth ...

Types of Opportunities available

Conference funding for SCA full-time staff members of CREATEC - Applicants should submit the form and supporting documentation directly to Rod Giblett r.giblett@ecu.edu.au Once funds are committed CREATEC will advise you of the appropriate funding project code for your on-line travel approval. R&D Projects - We may be able to assist you with a government assisted grant, where a PhD student might take on the research or we may allocate a whole research team, depending on its size. more

Customised R&D Courses - We are also able to tailor courses to your needs to train your own staff to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to undertake the work within your own organisation. more

Industry Projects - Students are available to undertake industry projects, which normally end up with a finished product for your organisation such as an advertising campaign or a website or promotional DVD and provide students with valuable industry experience. more

Student Placements - We are also interested in student placements, where students may come to your organisation for a period of time to offer valuable expertise in their skill area and gain valuable industry experience. more
