Research Interests: Landscape as an interdisciplinary study area with special emphasis on creative language responses to Australian, Italian and Chinese landscapes.
Study of landscape poetry and prose past and present
Creation of landscape poetry and prose fiction.
Contribution to ecocritical studies nationally and internationally

Current Projects: 30 book manuscripts of prose fiction and non fiction and poetry related to landscape themes and issues.
Collaborations with leading landscape writers viz John Kinsella, Andrew Taylor, Anne Borne (UK), Madeline Ostrander (USA).
Production of E-journal 'Landscapes'.
Operational management of International Centre for Landscape and Language, ECU.
Working with WA Writers Centres and 'writingWA' on promotion of WA writers and writing. 
 
Previous Projects: 'Landscape and You' major research project in China, Italy and Australia, 1990-1995 (including production of television-based PG course for PAGE-SBS distance education project.
Many collaborative projects with other artists in Australia, China, Italy and UK. 
 
Previous Experience: University and College lecturer, professor and administrator and researcher for some 45 years.
